TATTOO FAQ

Dear customers,

Here you can read the Tattoo FAQ and find answers to frequently asked questions about tattoos, piercings, appointment bookings and more. You can also contact us through Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or the contact form provided below.

Does it hurt?

Yes, it hurts. Depending on the body part to be tattooed and the person, the pain is of course different. The outer arms are recommended for the first tattoos.

What are the risks of getting a tattoo?

As with any intervention in the body, there are risks. In the case of a tattoo, an area is "rubbed open" with the needle, which can be compared to an abrasion. When the needle penetrates the skin, it is opened and bacteria, germs and other pathogens can penetrate. In every good tattoo studio, however, the work is hygienically flawless and thus the risk of infection / inflammation is greatly minimized. Another risk can be the allergic reaction to the color pigments. A good studio only uses colors that are approved in Germany according to the Tattoo Inks Ordinance, so you don't have to worry. If you have any questions about which colors we use, click here.

What are the risks of getting a piercing?

There are similar risks with a piercing as with a tattoo. Through hygiene and good care, piercings that come from a professional studio heal, but with almost no risks and problems.

Can I bring my own design / drawing?

Of course you can bring your own design. We advise you on whether it is doable or needs to be changed. Furthermore, it is important for you to know that we do not implement any motifs from the Internet. The right artist for you will design a template specifically for you.

How does the tattooing process work?

You enter the studio for your appointment, you get welcomed and, if you want, have a coffee until your tattoo artist comes. The tattoo artist will show you your motif again, which he has planned for you. If something needs to be changed, it will be changed. He takes you into his area. Then the area to be tattooed is disinfected, shaved, disinfected again and the stencil for your tattoo is applied. You can of course look again whether the position fits and if everything is good. Now the stencil will dry for 15-30 minutes. Please do not touch the stencil as the area has been disinfected! During this time, the artist builds up the colors and everything else for the tattoo. When everything is ready, take a seat and off you go on the wild ride to your new tattoo.

How does the piercing process work?

You enter the studio for your appointment, you get welcomed and, if you want, you get a coffee until the piercer comes. You go with the piercer in our separate piercing room. He marks the place where the piercing should be placed. You say whether it fits there for you. The piercer will ask you if there are any things or questions for you that you would like to have clarified before the piercing. The piercing is pierced with a disposable needle and initial jewelry made of titanium or bioplast is used. You will receive care instructions and you are done.

Should I tip the tattoo artist?

Must? No! Allowed to? Of course, very much. Our artists look forward to any attention. It doesn't matter if it's money, something sweet or just sandwiches for the team.

What is the best time of year to get a tattoo?

There's no such thing as the best time of year to get a tattoo. You must decide if you can accept certain restrictions on the time of year you get your tattoo. If you are at the lake every day in the summer, it is better to do your tattoos in a different time of the year.

Can I get a tattoo while I have a cold / am pregnant / taking heavy medication?

No!

Can I expose myself to the sun or the solarium if I have a fresh tattoo?

You can do it, but it is not that smart 😉. After getting the tattoo, you should avoid the sun and the solarium for about 6-12 weeks to avoid unnecessary damage to your skin. In general, as a person with a lot of tattoos, you should avoid the sun, as the colors can fade due to the sun and you have to re-tattoo more often. In all cases, at least SPF30 applies to healed tattoos.

Can I shave afterwards?

After about 4 weeks, the tattoo has healed enough that you can shave the area again without further ado.

What do I have to do at home to properly care for my tattoo and for it to heal?

You will receive everything from us that is necessary for perfect care. The first five days you will get what is known as a "second skin". This film is breathable and protects your fresh tattoo from external influences. In the five days you don't have to put any cream or pay special attention to anything. You can shower with this film and live your everyday life normally without changing it. After you have removed the foil, you regularly cream your tattoo with the cream that we gave you. We will also give you care Care instructions .

How long does the healing process take?

It takes 2-4 weeks for the tattoo to heal on the surface. Depending on the body part and general condition. The tattoo is also completely healed in depth after 8-12 weeks.

Do I have to make a deposit?

Yes, you always have to pay a deposit. The amount of the deposit varies. The decisive factor for this is the total price of the tattoo.

How does the appointment booking work?

Appointments can be made in our studio or online if PayPal is available. Just click here,to schedule a consultation.

How long do I have to wait for my turn?

That depends on your tattoo wish and with which artist it is implemented. You are currently waiting for an appointment for about a week to a year.

Can I see my design before booking?

No. We work according to a fixed scheme. Make an appointment, pay a deposit, see the design and then get the tattoo.

Will you send me the design before my appointment?

Yes. You will always get to see your design on the Sunday before your appointment. Unless you've arranged something else with the artist.

I would like to cover my tattoo, how does it work?

To do this, you first make an appointment for a consultation . You can arrange this this right here. Then we look at your tattoo as it is. Of course, you can express your wish as to what should be done about your existing motif. We will then tell you what needs to be done to make this possible. With us applies: NOTHING is impossible!

Can someone come with me?

Yes, but this must also be discussed with the artist beforehand.

Do you tattoo your hands, neck, face?

With us, the following applies: neck and hands only at the end! That means, at least both arms must be completely full before we tattoo your hands.

Do you tattoo over scars?

Yes, Scar Cover Up is one of our specialties. Have a look here for more information.
